Blackpool manager Ian Evatt has confirmed yet another injury blow for the Seasiders with Michael Obafemi set to miss the remainder of the season following ankle surgery.
The news is a significant setback for the League One club given the forward has managed just five appearances since signing on loan from Burnley in the winter transfer window.
It comes on the back of losing another January signing, Kamarl Grant, to a similar season-ending injury just three games into his loan from Millwall.
Obafemi left the field just before half-time in Saturday's 4-0 defeat against Plymouth and Evatt confirmed he will have surgery in London on a "high ankle tear".
"He came off with a significant ankle injury so we are going to be losing him for the rest of the season," he told BBC Radio Lancashire.
"We haven't been able to pick from our best players often enough this season and it has absolutely hurt us. To make some remedies in the January window then to lose two of those to in-game ankle injuries is tough to take."
Evatt, whose side are currently just a point above the relegation zone in 19th place, will also have to make do without defender James Husband against Mansfield at Bloomfield Road on Tuesday.
Husband, who has already missed four matches in January following his dismissal against Port Vale on New Year's Day, received a straight red card for a dangerous challenge late in the game against the Pilgrims.
