Arne Slot needs to unleash incredible player once and for all

Among the most notable ones has been Rio Ngumoha. He's only 17-years-old but from the beginning of pre-season he has shown that he belongs in the first-team.

Ngumoha started the summer with five goal contributions in five games during the pre-season campaign. He dazzled Liverpool's opponents with some exquisite performances.

Then he delivered on the main stage, scoring that last-gasp winner against Newcastle United.

That was supposed to be a watershed moment. However, it hasn't turned out that way. Ngumoha's time has been limited with the first-team ever since.

Even though in the rare instances when he does play, he's been brilliant.

His last cameo against Brighton was an example of that. Ngumoha came on for the last few minutes of the game and he delivered instantly.

The 17-year-old scored a brilliant goal curling into the bottom corner of the net. It was ruled out for offside but replays clearly showed that Ngumoha was on side and the goal should have stood.

For the rest of the game, he was brilliant as well, constantly driving at his opponents and causing Brighton a lot of trouble.

Unfortunately, it likely won't be the beginning of a new spark for him. Slot will manage him strictly.

But in our opinion, he needs to unleash the young man. Slot has to be finally giving Ngumoha more chances on the pitch.

Yes, it's important to protect him as well. We are not asking him to be playing 90 minutes every three days. But some longer stints on the pitch. 20-30 minutes here and there could only benefit the incredible player that he is.

Liverpool could use the talent he has from time to time, too.
