Christian Gonzalez gets major Madden 26 ratings update after SB LX

There’s no cornerback like New England Patriots corner Christian Gonzalez in Madden NFL 2026.

Gonzalez played his third season for the Patriots in 2025. The 23-year-old recorded 10 passes defended last season. Gonzalez was given a player grade of 75 by Pro Football Focus for the regular season and the playoffs combined. The Oregon product recorded one interception, in addition to one sack in the Patriots’ 10-7 win over the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship game. He capped that off with two elite-level passes defended on Seattle Seahawks First-Team All-Pro wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Rashid Shaheed in Super Bowl LX.

According to EA Madden NFL, Gonzalez was rated as the No. 1 cornerback with a 98 overall rating in Madden 26 following the Super Bowl.

Gonzalez was one of only six players to be rated 98 overall in the latest update.

First-team All-Pro wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase (Cincinnati Bengals), quarterback and AP NFL MVP finalist Josh Allen (Buffalo Bills), right tackle Lane Johnson (Philadelphia Eagles), as well as defensive end and 2025 AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett (Cleveland Browns) were the only players to receive a 99 rating.
